Among the evidence collected have been found remains blurred rest from a marker pen on the suicide note. By the interrogations realized it is known that John Carles Teacher never wrote with a pen, so it is suspected that someone wrote the note to make the crime look like a suicide. They have provided us with markers for the offices of the main suspects and we must analyze them. The marker ink is a homogeneous mixture of pigments and to know which one matches the sample we have to use another method of separation: the chromatography.
To see what different colored markers are made follow the next procedure and we will incorporate the result into our SHEET :
Materials: Filter paper Beaker Water or alcohol Pens Process: A) We use a filter paper for each pen and we make a hole in the middle B) Draw in those holes a point with a different rotu C) Introduce another filter paper wrapped in the hole and place it on a beaker with water or alcohol so that it rises and soaks the filter paper D) The inks will separate. Each one will have different components. We check that the ink is a mixture |

Done! We add the points obtained in the evaluation of this activity
If we have got at least 12 points, we put the SuperChemistry award in our portfolio!
Congratulations!

Congratulations!
We have now finished analyzing the chemical samples.
We go back to the beginning and enter the 5, the BIOLOGICAL LABORATORY, go ahead!

Supplementary activities for bonus points:
- Make photosynthetic pigment chromatography
- Make a report on the uses of the chromatrography
